f you follow the old Valerian Road on  the left bank of the Adda in Valtellina. You will come to Traona here you will see the green slopes of the mountians these are the grapevines of

 Ca Rossa, at 300 mt above sea level on 2 hectare of land Ca Rossa produces about  30.000  lt of wine  every year, using  mainly Chiavannasca grapes they make an excellent strong red wine Nebbiolo tipical of this area

 This part of Vatellina has a long history of wine making that goes back to 1020, old papers have been found which confirm the existence of this trade  by their ancestors .

                    

The contrast between  efficiency    and respect for  tradition, old and new methods, add charm to this structure.Each phase from the planting  to the actual wine making is all done in full  respect for the environment without use any  chemical substances.

  

 

From planting to pruning  the harvest to the cellar  The Colli family  and Riccardo 

work with passion, pruning  by hand they choose the gems to keep and those to cut .The 

vine needs love and  care and each year brings new experience.

 

The Colli Family follows the whole process personally with the help of  Dott. Fabio Rava also native of Troana .The most advance tecnology are used in a traditional context  in the old  farm  house new modern cellars have been built 9 mt. Underground  there is a constant temperature of 16  degrees . The wine is left to mature in oak barrels which exalt the perfume .All this is done with great care end attention The effort is  worthwhile  and deserves admiration .Follow the winděng road to Troana and you will discover how much love and care it takes to put that delicious Nebbiolo into your  glass
